Meet Jen
Hi. I'm Jen Yates, designer and owner of My Type on Paper. I'm originally from Manchester, UK but currently living in Liverpool in a beautiful riverside flat/studio just outside the City Centre. I began my creative journey over ten years ago as a portrait artist and illustrator, specialising in traditional pencil. However, over time, I found drawing portraits was no longer quenching my creative thirst so I packed up the pencils for a while and started a graphic design course.

For years I thought about starting a stationery business since a number of friends asked me to design their wedding invitations but could never find the time to commit to it. However, after losing my corporate job to redundancy in 2023 I was suddenly gifted the elusive luxury of time, and so My Type on Paper was born! I've always had an affinity with paper goods and all things stationery (you want to see my notebook collection) so My Type on Paper is a beautiful way of combining my passions.

I work from my home studio. Everything I create is made with authenticity and pure love. Creating beautiful wedding stationery for my lovely clients' special day is my passion and I like to think that is reflected in my work. I use environmentally sustainable materials wherever I can to be as kind as possible to our beautiful planet. Individuality and sustainability are at the heart of my ethos, not to mention a quality, personal service. I absolutely love creating event stationery with clean, minimalist, chic designs.
